If it says “Bluetooth ist ausgeschaltet” (Bluetooth is switched off) or “Bluetooth-Zugriff nötig” (Bluetooth access needed), the button below it helps. More in the help centre

On the radar and in the list, others only see you while you are searching yourself: leave the section or close the app; your entry may still be shown briefly on other people’s devices afterwards. To stay hidden, choose the default mode “Nie” (never); schedules you have set up still apply during their time windows. Anyone you have already encountered while searching can find you again for up to 30 days under “Kürzlich in der Nähe” (Recently nearby) with the planned Premium. More in the help centre

“Sehr nah” is the closest of four rough levels, followed by “In der Nähe” (nearby), “Ein paar Meter” (a few metres) and “In Reichweite” (in range). Elody estimates the level from the strength of the Bluetooth signal, which varies: that is why there is no distance figure.

No, only for “In der Nähe” (Nearby): Elody only searches via Bluetooth while the section is open, never in the background. Without Bluetooth access the app does not search at all.
